If you were thinking Hollywood won’t be releasing any movies this summer due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, then YOU ARE WRONG. Some very exciting movies are being released in theatres this summer starting July 1st. One after the other, you’ll get to watch some of your favourite movies pretty soon so buckle up for next month, store all the popcorns you can and prepare to have movie nights with your family.

Hollywood is trying to get back on its feet after a long pause due to the pandemic. Although, it’s still a big mystery if people will come to watch these movies or not but there sure is a lot of variety as a number of films are being released. That said, July is packed like never before.

1. Unhinged

Russell Crowe plays a man having a really bad day and makes it worst for a woman (Caren Pistorius) when she decides to honk her horn at him.

2. The Broken Hearts Gallery

Releasing – July 17

This rom-com stars Geraldine Viswanathan (“Blockers,” “Bad Education”) who after getting dumped decides to create a pop-up area that’s filled with pieces from past relationships.

3. Palm Springs

Releasing – July 10

This comedy packed movie (which is going to be available on Hulu and at drive-ins only) stars Andy Samberg and Cristin Millioti. The story is about a guy who has a chance encounter with a girl named Sarah at a resort in Palm Springs which leads to unexpected scenarios.

4. Mulan

Let’s not lie about this one, everyone’s been patiently waiting for the Disney live-action movie Mulan and it’s finally coming out this summer. The live-action movie follows the story of the famous Disney animated movie in which a young Chinese woman Mulan (Liu Yifei) as she decides to disguise herself as a man and fight for the Imperial Army in order to save her ageing father from having to.

5. The Rental

Releasing – July 24

Marking Dave Franco’s feature directing debut, he also stars alongside wife Alison Brie and Dan Stevens in this thriller movie that follows two couples who uncover some sinister things after renting an Airbnb home.

6. Tenet 


Releasing – August 12 

Christopher Nolan’s newest film mixes espionage and alternate realities to deliver a thriller packed film that could motivate audiences to return to movie theatres in droves.

The movie also has an outstanding cast that includes John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, and Elizabeth Debicki.

7. Sound Of Metal

Releasing – August 14 

Riz Ahmed delivers his latest stirring performance playing a heavy-metal drummer who begins to lose his hearing.

8. Antebellum 


Releasing – August 21 

Janelle Monáe stars in this thriller packed film in which she plays a successful author who suddenly is pushed into a nightmarish existence that she might never escape.

9. Bill And Ted Face The Music

Releasing – August 14 

The long-awaited third movie in the “Bill & Ted” franchise is finally here. Bill S. Preston (Alex Winter) and Ted “Theodore” Logan (Keanu Reeves) are now middle-aged fathers, but they are still working to make Wild Stallyns a hit band and fulfil their destiny.

The sequel follows up after the events of the first movie as the Abbott family, led by mom Evelyn (Emily Blunt), set out into the world and find there’s more danger out there than creatures that hunt by sound.
