A huge tribute has been paid to video games streamer Byron Bernstein known as Reckful and also who died on Thursday.
Mr. Bernstein was a well-known gamer in the world and also a loved e-sports player and had 960,000 followers on the huge streaming site Twitch.
His brother Gary Bernstein confirmed that Reckful had taken his own life at the age of 31.
Twitch also said that Reckful was a “streaming pioneer” and said that he was truly devastated to hear about his brother’s death.
Mr. Bernstein had built his following in part by playing World Of Warcraft mainly and he also played other battlefield games but Warcraft was the main and actual reason behind his popularity.
When his death was reported on Thursday evening, all of his fans held a virtual memorial inside the game as a tribute to his departed soul.
Before the death of reckful, he had been working to create his own video game which he would call Everland.
He shared a video in January on YouTube in which he talked about his own struggle with depression and also said that he had lost one of his brothers to suicide and that he is also experiencing suicidal thoughts.
“Byron my brother was someone who talked about his struggles to help make room for others to the same for him basically,” Twitch said in a statement.
“As we deal with this great and irreparable loss, we have to recognize that the stigma around us related to mental health and treatment often prevents people from seeking and getting the help they need and they should need.”
