The free Final Fantasy VII Remake PS5 upgrade is now available to download for those who own the PS4 version of the game.
As shown earlier this week, Final Fantasy VII Remake’s PS5 version of last year’s Remake, dubbed ‘Intergrade’, weighs in at around 81GB. Those who previously purchased the PS4 version of the game can upgrade to the local PS5 for free via the official PlayStation Store. Please note that the PS Plus version of the recently released game is not eligible for free upgrades – only those who purchased the full version of the game physically or digitally can use the free update.
To upgrade to the PS5 version of the game, players can watch Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade on the official PlayStation Store. Once selected, tap the three dots next to the game and select “Upgrade for PS4 edition owners”.
The PS5 version of Final Fantasy VII Remake includes graphics and performance improvements from Sony’s next-gen console, including new graphics modes – 4K mode that supports 4K resolution, and a performance mode focused on 60FPS. In addition to these new modes, ‘Intergrade’ offers several graphics enhancements, including improvements to lighting, texture, fog effects and a new photo mode.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake on PS5:
In addition to the all-new PS5 version of Final Fantasy VII Remake, the new INTERmission “Yuffie” DLC is also available to download. The extension also weighs in at 9GB for bootloaders. The DLC is included for INTERgrade buyers on PlayStation 5, but not for those upgrading from the PS4 version. The extension is available through the store for $19.99.
