Biz Markie Dead at 57, ‘Just a Friend’ Singer,

Known by the legendary song Just a Friend, We Markie has died. He was 57 years old.

Mark’s brother Diamond Shell confirmed the news on Facebook on Friday. “The worst of the controversy is the legend of the legend … brother WE MARKIE,” he wrote. “I will miss the words”

Markie spokeswoman Jenny Izumi said, “Tonight, with her husband Tara, a hip hop pioneer, we are very saddened to announce that Markie has died peacefully.” He said.

“We are grateful for the many calls and prayers we received for our support during this difficult time. As we grieve for our loved ones, we respectfully want privacy for his family. ”

According to TMZ, Markie died at a hospital in Baltimore, surrounded by his family. Born on April 8, 1964, at Marcel Theo Hall in Harlem, Markie grew up on Long Island, where she became famous for her boxing and rhymes at a young age. In 1989, Markie released “Just a Friend” as the lead album of her second album, The We Never Sleeps. Markie’s most successful single to date is VH1’s list of the 100 Best Hip Hop Songs.

TV and movie credits include Men in Black II, Sharknado 2: Second One, Empire, Black-ish, Spongebob Squarepants and Living Color.

Following the news of his death, fans and friends took to social media to pay their respects to Mark.

LL Cool J shared a tearful Instagram video in memory of the late rapper. He shared the headline “Rest in strength..I love you brother.”
